This is my artwork

I am an illustrator who works primarily in graphite to produce richly detailed drawings of fashion, people, and architecture. The focus of many of my illustrations lies in capturing the texture of woven fabrics, leather, and three dimensional features of architectural surfaces and design.

My objective is to make these images more than the photo with the use of texture enhanced by the choice of paper and soft black graphite. My color pieces are a combination of watercolor, watercolor pencil, and sometimes graphite. The aquarelle pencil allows me to have fine detail with a watercolor effect.

the buildings...

The Transamerica Building and the Copperplate Building, which houses Zoetrope Studios and Francis Ford Coppola’s Restaurant in the North Beach area of San Francisco, were shot with my friend Ace in the foreground. My intention was to give a feeling of optimism, bridging the old and new.

The Gluek’s Bar & Restaurant piece followed. Note the sky and burnt beams through the window. This was shot after the fire that destroyed the interior only six years after its renovation. It has been restored and still remains one of Minneapolis’ historic sites, as well as a popular dining establishment.

I was commissioned to draw Yamamoto / Moss Advertising, featuring the marbleized face of the building, for an invitation to their open house.
